DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and ensures compliance from all store staff. Enforces security and loss prevention procedures, including ensuring sales transactions are rung up and reported accurately, all monies are collected, counted and deposited securely in the designated bank. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work schedules; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
In addition, this position ensures merchandise colorization and categorizes of textile inventory; maintains adequate store inventory, formulates pricing policies on merchandise according to requirements for profitability of store operations; investigate accidents/injuries; assist in completing paperwork accurately and neatly and submits within established timeframes. Maintain a safe working /shopping environment for all employees and customers. Respond in a timely manner to customer complaints or inquiries; perform various retail duties as assigned.
Proficient in the above listed skills with prior customer service experience preferably in a retail environment; assist in achieving or exceeding store sales monthly and annual goals; maintain and control revenue expenses monthly and annually; able to learn company policies and procedures in a short period of time and ensure compliance of the same of the retail staff; ensures customers are treated in a fair, courteous and efficient manner by store staff; knowledge of and the ability to administer first aid in case of accidents.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily listed above which are representative of the Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities required; Additionally this incumbent will be proficient in math, reading, and writing; able to perform the physical demands of the job which include: Mobility-required to stand; frequently walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Dexterity– requires hands to manipulate, feel, reach, lift and/or carry. Sensory– able to see objects, colors at close range or distance, peripheral, and depth vision, communicate orally with normal hearing decibel. Lifting-frequently lifts and/or carries 25 to 50 lbs. using safety measures in place. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions). Hours are primarily daytime hours with some evening work and rotating weekends.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or (GED) and 2 years Customer Service Experience, one of which must include one year in a management position. (A Customer Service Certificate may be substituted for 3 months of related experience. Retail Management Certificate may be substituted for 6 months of retail experience).
Retail store management & activities of store personnel; scheduling, merchandising; math, reading and writing.Identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner; works well in group problem solving situations; responds promptly to customer needs; and solicits customer feedback to improve service.
