The incumbent in this position will be primarily responsible for the assisting the manager of a retail store; in the absence of the Store Manager supervise 10+ retail employees; coordinates activities of workers in retail store by performing the following duties: carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and ensures compliance from all store staff. Ensures merchandise colorization and categorizes of textile inventory, maintain adequate store inventory, monitor pricing of merchandize; investigate accidents/injuries; assist in completing paperwork accurately and neatly and submits within established time-frames. Maintain a safe working/shopping environment for all employees and customers. Respond in a timely manner to customer complaints or inquiries; perform various retail duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in the above listed skills with prior customer service experience preferably in a retail environment; will assists in achieving or exceeding budget store sales monthly and annual goals; able to lean company policies and procedures in a short period of time and ensure compliance of the same of the retail staff; will have knowledge of and the ability to administer first aid in case of accidents.
Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily listed above which are representative of the Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities required; additionally this incumbent will be proficient in math, reading, and writing; able to perform the physical demands of the job which include: Mobility –required to stand; frequently walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Dexterity – requires hands to manipulate, feel, reach, lift and/or carry. Sensory –able to see objects, colors at close range or distance, peripheral, and depth vision, communicate orally with normal hearing decibel. Lifting –frequently lifts and/or carries 25 to 50 lbs. using safety measures in place. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions). Hours are primarily daytime hours with some evening work and rotating weekends.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED required plus 12 months of retail customer service experience, 6 months of which must have been in a management position. (Retail Management Certificate may be substituted for 6 months of retail experience). Must also possess a current TXDL with an acceptable driving record that meet company’s insurance standards. (Bilingual is a plus)
