Goodwill Industries of East Texas, Inc. offers several Employment Services programs to assist participants in reaching their occupational goal.
Job Placement Services
One service offered in Employment Services is Job Placement. This service is geared towards helping to prepare individuals with disabilities for community employment. Placement workers assist the individual in creating a resume, provide interviewing tips and mock interviews, and review applications for employment prior to submitting to employers. Job Developers identify the most appropriate job in the community for the individual, help to initiate contact with the employer, and then provide follow-up services with the employer and individual to address any employment related issues or concerns.
Job Coaching Services
Another service program offered in this area is Job Coaching. This service is offered to individuals placed in community employment who require additional assistance to learn new job tasks, ease the transition into community employment, and assist in job maintenance.
Supported Employment Services
A more intensive employment service program offered is Supported Employment. This is more of a hands-on, place and train, model used to assist in the placement of the more severely disabled into community employment. In this service program, the Employment Specialist assists directly with the application, prepares the individual for the interview including participating in the interview process if allowed, develops the job to the specific needs of the applicant, and provides on the job training.
